Throughout the interview, it became apparent that there was a significant gap in domain knowledge related to Power BI. As someone interviewing for a technical role in this specific field, I expected the interviewer to possess a fundamental understanding of the subject matter. However, it was evident that this was not the case.
The lack of domain knowledge made it challenging to engage in a meaningful discussion about my skills and experiences related to Power BI. Furthermore, it created a sense of disconnect during the interview process, ultimately impacting the overall experience.
As a professional seeking opportunities in this field, I value interviews as an essential part of the selection process. However, I must say that this experience stands out as one of the worst I have encountered in terms of interviewer preparation and understanding of the subject matter.
Moving forward, I would encourage the company to ensure that interviewers possess the necessary expertise and knowledge to effectively evaluate candidates for technical roles such as Power BI. Doing so will not only enhance the candidate experience but also ensure that the hiring process accurately assesses the qualifications and capabilities of potential candidates.
