      Entretien

After applying on Friday, got email on Monday saying that I was invited for evaluation day with several days to choose from. I went on Wednesday, with six other people we watched some videos about how good is to be employed in Flight Centre, then got some basic information about Galileo and sales technics and after that we got an exercise. There was a short conversation between client and travel consultant, and base on that we had to figure out where the client want to go, what flights, and which hotel. There were 9 destinations to pick from and the details are very important, for example client wanted hotel with culture classes, and there was exactly one hotel offering it, you just have to read through the descriptions. There is just one proper answer, I got it, and later afternoon I received another email inviting me to pick the time for phone interview. I had it next day and it was really unpleasant. The woman was very short with me, asked 3 questions, didn't let me fully answer them, was stopping me in mid sentence. I got impression she wasn't interested at all in what I've been saying. The phone call took little less then 5 minutes. After that she said I'll get email within 48 hour telling me if I get to another stage of interviewing process. I had a bad feeling about it based on how she behave during this phone interview and i was right. After EXACTLY 48 hours (she had to set up automatic response right after she hang up with me) I got email that my application was unsuccessful. I felt really disrespected, I might not be the ideal candidate, but showing such lack of interest in what I was saying was bordering on rudeness.

Initially started as group stages, being asked questions to whittle our people they probably saw as having too much pre-existing sales type focus. The more formal interview was comfortable and not stressful. This was done in groups of 3.

Got an invite for a 15 minute phone interview the day after I applied. The recruitment specialist was extremely kind and informative, he asked basic questions pertaining to my resume and gave a brief breakdown of the job. I was immediately moved to the next stage which was a 45 minute phone interview with the same person, going more in-depth of the job, and more personalized questions from a personality/skill quiz which took about an hour to complete. 10 questions, the last 3 were timed and included deciphering backwards sentences and basic math. After the second phone interview, I was invited to an in-store assessment day where I completed a work book consisting of fun geography sections such as capital cities, airport codes, time zones, etc. I then had a 1:1 with my manager and it was super casual and easy-going. Probably the best interview i've ever had. Next day I was offered the job, which was subject to 2 reference checks.

Many questions, asking about both past travel experience, past work experience and where you'd like to travel to next. Very easy going and allows for real conversation. The interviewer really broke down what the corporate culture was like and helped me become more interested in the job.
