When I first got to the office, I saw at least 3 people not wearing a mask in pubic area in the building. The person that greeted me was not wearing a mask (this was during the 2020 COVID pandemic). The interview process however proceeded normally, I talked to the recruiter in his office(he wore a mask); then we walked across the street to the lab. I interviewed 3 managers and did a lab walk-through, everyone wore masks in the lab area, but social distancing was near impossible. I went back across the street and finished up with the recruiter. I informed him of my legal name change and informed him that I was transitioning male to female and less than 10 seconds later I was outside. It felt like I instantly disqualified myself for the position by sharing that information. I never heard from the recruiter or anyone from first priority again. Luckily, as I returned to my car I found that I have received an email from a different company and have accepted a job position that celebrates me, pays way more, and has a better work environment.
