I applied online for a tech position in Madrid. I received an answer quickly in an English email. The job description did not ask for Spanish. I had a call with the recruiter that lasted only 8 minutes. He spoke in Spanish and sometimes in English, but he said this IT position required Spanish. He said he would confirm with the Hiring manager if he could make an exception since it's a tech position. One hour later, I received an e-mail with a rejection.
