Entretien
First an employee contacted me on linked in and asked me if I am interested in a position with FactSet. Then I sent my CV and got a call within 5 min from the recruiter. She told me to participate on this online test. After I did it, she called me again and prepared me for the video interview with the Frankfurt office. There I got asked about my general targets and some questions about my financial knowledge. And also why FactSet, why I want to work as a data provider, importance of data, what is FactSets main client (=Investment Management firms). After this interview in the first step I was told to prepare myself for a personal interview in Frankfurt, but they didn't send me final confirmation mail. Then I got again a cal from the recruiter and informed me that they were hesitating to invite me, because they had the feeling that I was focussing to much on the client facing part and didn't show enough commitment to the location in Frankfurt. So I had to write another cover letter to show my interest in the work with data and the location: Frankfurt. After a couple of days I received again a call and they finally confirmed the personal interview.
I had one week to prepare myself. I had to go by train from Amsterdam to Frankfurt.
There the interview was divided into two parts.
The first with the Senior Consultant and the Sales Boss.
The second with two other consultants.
The first part included CV, why you did the different steps in your life, questions about FactSet and questions about Finance. The second part as well questions about CV, why FactSet, detailed finance questions and introduction into FactSet. The first part they will try to create a stressful atmosphere to see how you react and behave in that kind of situation. The presentation was in the end of the stress-interview.

- I had to explain every single point on my CV and had to tell them why I had no chance to work in an Investmentbank while studying.
- Had to answer the question why I chose finance and not accounting.
- Why FactSet.
-Name all competitors from FactSet and what makes FactSet outstanding. (It is not sufficient to answer that FactSet provides a customized user interface.)
-Why I applied at FactSet and not Bloomberg.
-FactSet's most recent acquisitions and why FactSet acquired these firms. You should also be able to shortly explain the core tasks of these new entities.
-The tasks and challenges a consultant has to deal with. How he can contact the clients. How he receives information of the clients.
-Invest 100 mio US-Dollar for them.
- They asked about ECM and DCM and in what way it refers to FactSet.
-The asked about the specific requirements of an investment management firm. What they need, what kind of asset classes and strategies they might deal with. Their company structure in comparison to the investment bank's company structure. Also a a short statement why IM is more complex than IB.
- Be able to name all different departments of an IB. Be able to explain what these different departments need as data.
- Be able to explain beta, alpha, covariance vs. correlation

Entretien
Straightforward. You begin with a telephone interview, followed by a group interview with you work on a group project and share a talent/skill you possess. If successful, you will then go through several rounds of interview with hiring manager and other senior stakeholders.

Entretien
There was an initial virtual interview with HR and then an interview the the manager from the US. HR lady was friendly and was fast to respond to emails. The manager didn’t seem experienced in interviewing, he said so himself and went for someone that didn’t require onboarding training. He said he doesn’t expect knowledge on equity when being quizzed on it but yet the reason for not getting the role was lack of knowledge on it. Was not pleased with this misleading behaviour. The decision felt rushed as they only gave a reply once I emailed so felt like they already had the candidate chosen.
