      J'ai passé un entretien chez FHLBank Chicago (Chicago, IL)

      Entretien

      I was recruited for a contract position within the IT Department at this employer. I interviewed with the AVP, IT Delivery Manager. During our interview, I highlighted my work experience and skillset, which closely matched the requirements for this role. At the end of my interview, I directly asked the interviewer if he saw any roadblocks or had any concerns that would hold me back from moving into the next round of the process. He said he did not, and that he felt that my skillset and experience translated well to the role's specifications and requirements. I was advised that I would hear back by last Wednesday, just before the Holiday break. I have not received any updates regarding the next steps. Communication is obviously not their strong suit. Of course....I'm not buying a house or borrowing money, so I kind of expected this. Furthermore, the interviewer explained during the interview that the organization's stance on highly skilled, highly paid roles within the bank....these roles are set up to be long-term contract roles, so the bank can skirt around paying for employee benefits. This usually signifies a failing business that cannot handle paying for the proper talent and rewarding them appropriately. I feel like I dodged a bullet, so I wanted to help others in the same predicament.
