This company tries really hard to attract recent grads and vets, but it is very shady. I went through the interview process and everything was pretty straight forward and easy. They asked me about my technical skills and personal experiences. I had two phone interviews, a video interview, an aptitude test, and a series of Skype interviews (because I was too far away from NY or DC). The scam comes in with payment and the training program.
I opted to do the New York location for the few months of training. They do not arrange for any type of housing or assistance, and while in the program they pay $13.50/hr. In New York City, that is not even close to a livable wage. The recruiter told me "many people in our program have roommates, we can help arrange that for you!" as if that is some type of selling point. After the training, you have a three month period to find placement. If you do find a placement, they offered $45,000 the first year and $50,000 the second year. The company that you are placed with can part ways at any time. They claim to have a 98% placement rate, but based off of the reviews here, it doesn't seem very likely. AND if you do end up quitting for a livable wage elsewhere, you have to pay them back for $30,000. They are paying $13.50/hr for you to take this course and dedicate your time, but if you are dissatisfied with these horrible wages you have to pay THEM back? They get a say in where you are living for the next two years and you get terrible pay to live in an expensive metropolitan area, while they take a huge cut of your pay. This job sounded almost too good to be true at first, but I am glad that I did more research before accepting any offer from them.
