I applied to Express online, and a few weeks later received a call to come in for an interview. I arrived 5 minutes early only to be told by a sales associate I was mistaken about the time of my interview and to please come back in a half hour. When I came back, she apologized and said that there was a miscommunication and that I was right the first time. So instead of a 1-on-1 interview, I was interviewed at the same time as another applicant. Easy questions: Why do you want to work here? What department would you want to work in? None of the typical "tell me about a time" scenarios. The manager was running late so she rushed us out. However, they did call my references, so I think that made a big difference. She called a week later and offered me the position making $7.75.
