The Director conducting the interview couldn't be bothered to attend the interview on time or arrange their diary properly..
I booked in some annual leave to attend my interview remotely. I joined the scheduled interview time 5 minutes early, having prepped for the call for a considerable amount of time. I have significant experience in the industry and this was a high profile position for Evolve IP.
10 minutes past the hour and there was no sign of the Director joining my interview. I sent them a message asking if now was still a good time, or if we should reschedule. I didn't receive a reply until 20 minutes into my 1 hour interview.
The reply I received, was an apology as they were at an event and they will be with me in 2 minutes. I naively waited another 10 minutes alone, as I wanted to give them the benefit of doubt.
35 minutes in, I messaged back asking for an update. I didn't receive a reply until I decided to leave the interview after 40 minutes. After confirming I had left the interview, they messaged me immediately asking for us to continue and they will be with me shortly.
I declined.
I also declined an offer to reschedule for another day.
There is so much wrong here I can't fathom it and I don't need to go into further detail.
First impressions count, organise your diary and communicate properly. Respect peoples time like I had respected yours.
I could only imagine how things are inside of this organisation, if this is how you treat those who are looking to join it.
