Entretien
The interview is about personal work style and determining whether you would truly enjoy the job and fit in the position. The first step was a phone call from the Program Manager. She discussed the position with me and asked me a few questions about my career goals. Next, I went into the office for a formal interview with the Director of the program. She was very welcoming and we interviewed to determine if I would be a good fit for the position and how I would handle the situations in the public school setting. I had never worked in a public school setting before, so it was important to make sure that I would be comfortable to work in that environment.

The in-person interview was surprisingly robust for a part-time job. You watch a short video about the program, answer many behavioral questions with a two-person panel, and write a mock letter to a mentor. This interview definitely requires preparation and a thorough understanding of the skills required to work with children and run a mentoring program.
