      - HR screen - Initial tech interview with collaborative coding exercise - Multiple interview day - Collaborative design session - Collaborative debugging session - Behavioral interviews They like to do things like not tell you what to expect in the technical exercises to see how you deal with unfamiliar situations. I guess they like people who are good at "winging it". I have mixed feelings about the overall process I went through because some of the interviewers were absolutely fantastic and I would have greatly enjoyed working with them. Unfortunately, some were a bit immature and unprofessional at times. It was surprising for a company of their size. Etsy appears to still operate in the mindset of a startup despite its size. I'm guessing it's very chaotic and unstructured at times. I'm also guessing your experience there can vary greatly by team. Definitely ask very specific questions about the teams you're being considered for, what you will be doing and who you will be working with. They won't summarize that information for you automatically and the job postings are somewhat vague except with regard to culture. HR is definitely top notch though. They are great at communicating, following up and are very organized and patient. HR was the best part of the whole experience.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

Technical: Write some code Draw some diagrams Debug some code Behavioral: How do you handle conflict? How do you handle "vague requirements"? The two above questions you'll probably be asked several times in different ways like a lawyer cross-examining a witness. What's a project you're proud of?

Multiple stage interview process, including technical stages of different types. I only spoke with the initial hiring manager as after learning more about the interview process and role it didn't align with my expectations

Long process: Coffee Chat (30 minutes, mostly me asking questions) Months later I got an email saying thanks for doing the Coffee Chat and if I saw any applicable jobs online I could indicate I was referred from Coffee Chat. Recruiter Screen (30 minutes) Coding Challenge Recruiter Followup to explain final onsite process Final Onsite: 4 hours of interviews. In the end it was a waste of time because the recruiter informed me I could work in a location that turned out to be unavailable. Mistakes happen, but this was a big error that led to me being very excited by an offer that I ultimately couldn't accept because of the location.

HR call, phone interview and then onsite with odd frontend, system design and project dive deep. HR responded super slow with only 1 short answer every other day. I didn't feel being valued during the hiring process at least the HR didn't want to hiring at all. They sent a devops engineer to ask project dive deep questions who didn't know what to ask and couldn't follow the entire process. The interviewer didn't prepare anything and didn't know what to ask, they couldn't follow engineering process or feature development or xfn collaborations. Frontend interview was even worse, the interviewer wasn't engaged at all with poor communication skills. He didn't know how to answer clarification questions or provide guidance when I forgot some of the syntax. He pointed me to the wrong direction and wasted tons of time. The only positive round was hiring manager behavioral round, the EM seems friendly and experienced.
