      Entretien

TLDR: rampant disorganization among the recruiting team and grave lack of communication. I dropped out after the second round because it was so bad (never done that before). Don't waste your time. Full story: I applied in August, got a rejection letter a month later--fine. Then a month after THAT I got an email from a recruiter that they wanted to speak to me and thought my experience was perfect for the role. We agreed to a 30 minute time slot and when I get on the phone with the recruiter they're talking a mile a minute, dont even go over what the company does and what the role is (I did my homework, but still) and they dont tell me until half way through the call that they actually only have 20 minutes because their boss slapped a meeting on their calendar (they couldn't tell them they were meeting with a candidate??) so the whole thing was incredibly rushed. Red flag #1. #2: I asked the recruiter why I initially received a rejection letter for the role (the recruiter didn't even bring it up) and I was simply told 'someone else was handling the listing before' this recruiter. Like...Okay...??? Just showed the incredible disorganization. #3: I had my first round interview with the hiring manager, which went great! I tried to reach out to the recruiting team coordinator for her email and was told to send my TY note to them to pass to her because they didn't give out employee emails. I did so, but asked that they confirm when it was sent. That never happened. I follow up a week later with the main recruiter and they said they would ensure it was sent to her. I tried to confirm if it was sent in the first place and never got a response. #4: The recruiter told me the hiring manager liked me and wanted to get me to the next round. I was told his coordinator would be setting up time with me 'in the next few days'. After about 1 week of hearing nothing I followed up to check in with the main recruiter and never heard back. After another week I let the recruiter know I was no longer interested in the role and had been given a new opportunity at my current company (which was true). No response. #5: ONE MONTH LATER I get an email from the recruiter telling me they were ready for round 2 and were interviewing other candidates in that time, but wanted to set up time with me to speak to someone else. So clearly, they hadn't seen my email, and that they had gone so long without even a check in email I was so over it I didn't even respond (because I'd already tried to withdraw over email and didn't expect them to read/respond to my response anyway) I include all of this detail so that whoever is in charge of hiring can be aware of this TERRIBLE experience I had and hope that others' time isn't wasted like this. It was incredibly disappointing as someone who always loved and admired the Etsy brand--this could have been a dream job, but instead, unfortunately, I now just have a terrible taste in my mouth about the entire employer brand.
