Bizarre interviewing experience. Probably one of my worst interviewing experiences in the tech industry. Long story short, they have a serious problem with recruiting. Their process is horribly broken. Maybe their recruiters are incompetent or maybe its their engineers. Maybe the engineers are blocking new hires to protect their own jobs. Whatever it is, the end result is that I would not invest any money in Etsy stock because ultimately, such a horrible process is a reflection of the incompetence of upper management. My experience was very similiar to the other experiences described here. The communication was bad throughout the interview process and after the interview, again, there was no communication from their recruiter. I did the interviews well so there really is no reason for them to reject me. But even if they found better candidates, professional tech organizations typically send a short "Dear John" message to conculde the process. In this case there was nothing. Something's wrong with this company and I am glad that I did not have to join the company to find out what it is. So don't interview with this ridiculous excuse for a tech company unless you have a lot of time to waste.
