The hiring process felt deeply unprofessional and exploitative. The assignment was given using chatgpt and the team did not even bother changing some content. It was "the candidate should realistically do this in 10 days". And they gave 3 days.
Candidates are expected to complete extremely detailed assignments with unrealistic timelines and expectations. The amount of work required goes far beyond a reasonable evaluation exercise and honestly starts feeling like free consulting labor disguised as a hiring process.
I invested significant time outside my current work commitments to complete the assignment seriously because I respected the opportunity. However, after submission, there was complete silence. No feedback. No rejection. No acknowledgment.
That combination is the worst part. If a company expects candidates to invest hours of unpaid strategic and operational work, the bare minimum is professional closure and communication.
The process reflects a larger issue becoming increasingly common in India where companies push excessive assignments onto candidates without respecting their time or effort. Evaluation is understandable. Extraction of free labor is not.
Strongly recommend future candidates clarify expectations, scope, and feedback timelines before committing substantial effort.
