The initial process was typical and to the point. Phone screening with the recruiter, then a Teams meeting with 4-5 managers. The whole process was very fast as I was offered the position the next day. I also had another offer on the table from a different company so obviously I wanted to weigh the pros and cons of both. This is where I got a few red flags…the recruiter from Ensemble called me at 7PM to offer me the position and tried to tell me that I needed to sign the documents that night. I let her know that I would review them. She then text me at 9:30PM to ask if I would sign the documents. So I politely text her back and told her that I needed time to review with my family and I would let her know in the morning. No response. Is this normal practice? 24 hours is standard to review and accept/decline an offer. Fast forward to the next morning I had decided that the other offer was more in line with what I was looking for so I emailed a recruiter to let her know that I was declining the offer. She then emailed me back and says that they’re obviously disappointing, but is there anything that they can do for me to reconsider? So I told her if they were willing to discuss a higher salary more in line with market rate and my skills and background, then I would potentially reconsider. Now it’s crickets. Won’t respond and all of the offer documents were removed from my workday dashboard. Is this how recruiters are trained to handle candidates? To ghost them? The fact of the matter is that Ensemble pays well below market rate and I’m assuming it’s in hopes that people will take the jobs because they’re completely remote. Ensemble needs to reevaluate their pay scales because they are poverty wages, and in this economy with an 8-9% inflation, it’s pretty insulting. FYI, national average for a Revenue Integrity Analyst is $94k. I obviously think that the state the candidate lives in should play a factor as cost of living varies. Ensemble offered me $65k. I try to negotiate to $80k (well below national average) I would steer clear of this company if I were you.
