I went to an interview process in Mexico. Although the interview process was very unique, they're not very interested in knowing much about your background experience; they only focus on you in the present. Even though this can be good on one hand, on the other, not so much. In my case, even though they knew my experience was 100% focused on sales, they asked me questions about areas that were unrelated. I understand this might be to take you out of your comfort zone, but I believe it's not fair to do an evaluation based on that. Furthermore, their interview methodology involves solving fictional cases. It's interesting, but I personally felt attacked and under a lot of pressure to solve the case. Specifically, during one interview while I was working on the case, one of the interviewers said, "the clock is ticking," in an aggressive manner. Lastly, they have a "recruiting Friday" where you have to be available from 8 am to 12 pm for a series of interviews. I had to request half a day off from my current job for this, which I find unnecessary. In conclusion, the interview process is interesting, but I believe they have an old-fashioned mentality where YOU have to convince them why you're the best candidate, rather than a mutual decision where both parties should come to an agreement.

      Question 1

-If you were the CEO of City Market in Mexico and had to double its revenue, what would you do? -If you had to expand Emma's team in Africa, which areas would you hire for, and what would be the process? -Give us 5 ideas for non-sleep-related complementary products to purchasing a mattress, and then choose one of those and create a complete promotion strategy.

Abilities test online, followed by a 1 on 1 interview with an employee, followed by recruitment day consisting of a company presentation and 2 to 3 interviews. I had an extra interview before I officially got in. The first interview is to understand whether there is a fit between the candidate and the company (although I have heard that this can change depending on who is conducting the interview). The recruitment day consists of a full afternoon (I had to take the day off from my job at the time). 2 interviews with at least one team member present in one of them and a 3rd interview if the 2 interviews go well. In this recruitment day, they give you hypothetical situations like "how would you test a product?" or "if you could choose between partnering with brand X or Y to enter a new market in country Z, which one would you choose and why?". They also give you brain teasers, going from "what's 235 divided by 8?" to those classic ones about weighing balls that all look the same but one has a different weight. I prepared well for these by googling common brain teasers. It's a matter of practice and they don't necessarily care about the answer, but rather how you get there.

Same as explained, first is a logical exam and then an initial interview, and then a Recruiting Day where they interview you for 4 hours straight on a Friday along with other applicants. In each interview, they challenge every single answer even if it's a fairly subjective question (ex: I mentioned liking client-facing roles and I was asked why I wasn't in Customer Service instead). I appreciated this at first but some interviewers, most particularly during Recruiting Day, are explicitly rude and will cut you off multiple times. I am not sure if this was particular to my experience with people from the Lisbon office, but 4/6 people who interviewed me were either strict or straight up rude. 1 or 2 of them left a very negative mark on me and I wanted to end the call right then and there.

The process took a few weeks starting with the resume screening. I then had to take a test, followed by an interview with my now supervisor, ending with a day of three consecutive interviews known as Emma Recruiting Day. For Emma Recruiting Day, the first two interviews are guaranteed, while the third one is dependent on whether the initial interviewers of that day see you as a fit in the company.
