I interviewed for an HR Business Partner position at Emil Frey Greece in March 2026.
The recruitment process itself was relatively straightforward; however, I found some of the questions asked during the final interview inappropriate and unrelated to the role.
The final interview panel consisted of the CEO, CFO, and an external HR Consultant. During the discussion, I was asked questions such as:
Are you married?
Do you live alone?
What do your parents do for a living?
Would you be willing to join us for a lower salary than the one you currently earn?
I was also informed that the position was intended as a replacement for the departing HR Manager. However, the company did not appear willing to recruit at the same level of seniority at that stage and seemed to be looking for someone who could perform a similar scope of work at a lower cost.
Of course they never reverted back with an update - even if I answered the questions above as politely and as typically as I could.
