I applied online, and within a few days received an email asking when I could interview. I suggested a few time ranges, but didn't hear back. A week later, I sent a follow up email. They emailed back, asking when I could interview. Again, I suggested a few time ranges, and was told I would be called during one of those ranges (they didn't pick a time). A few hours before that time range, I got another email stating the interviewer was traveling and wouldn't be able to interview me that day. We rescheduled for a phone interview the next day at a precise time. A few minutes after the scheduled time, I still hadn't gotten a call so I emailed again with my cell phone number and skype name. I then received a skype call. The interview was typical, asking about my teaching experience, my experience working with kids, etc. Then the interviewer described the job as basically either prepping material or teaching from 9:00am to 9:00pm (minus lunch/dinner) for two weeks. This seemed substantially more than expected (there was no indication of the working hours on the job ad), but for a short-term gig could be doable. Then it became clear the instructors were also highly encouraged to help supervise the dorms, making this actually a 24-hour job. After that it became clear instructors were also expected to attend weekend field trips with the students, making it literally a 24/7 job. This, on top of the fact that they expect instructors to be PhD students or hold PhDs, led me to believe the compensation would be good, but what was offered was rather small, especially given the expensive location. I declined any follow-up interviews.
