This company is private and is a software development consulting organization.
My process was:
1. Initial Phone screen with creator
2. Technical challenge (CSS, align a box, JavaScript classes and subclassing, and a LeetCode easy/medium about recursion)
3. Challenge - Create GraphQL API about CRUD functionality for Events, Organizations, and Locations
4. Discuss the GraphQL API challenge with two developers
I met with the team, virtually, and after the final round, I was asked about start dates, salary compensation range, and general culture questions.
I was told verbally I would receive an offer in writing, but two days later they rescinded it.
They didn't even tell me - I found out after I had to ask the third-party recruiter what was going on.
I think it is not professional to tell a candidate that you will give them an offer and ask about start dates, but then not only withdraw the offer, but also not even provide a rejection notice to the candidate, let alone any feedback or reason.
Ask yourself this - what kind of organization ghosts/provides no communication after getting to the offer stage, especially when it's a change of mind and a rejection?
I would advise candidates to stick to organizations that have reputable, transparent hiring processes where you know you will not be left in the dark, as your time is very valuable.
