J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez EMC Insurance (Des Moines, IA) en mai 2022
Entretien
I applied in May 2022 and had a panel interview with two hiring managers. The interview was fine and mostly relaxed. I received a declination call from a different recruiter the following day, stating that I didn't have the experience that I was looking for.
A month later, I received a message on LinkedIn from a different recruiter to apply for the same position. I said fine, I'll give them another chance and had a second interview. One of the interviewers was the same, and the second was someone that I didn't know and wasn't introduced to until I asked about him towards the end.
There was nothing but radio silence over the course of June and now July. I followed up a couple of times with the recruiter, who seemed disorganized and was unresponsive. She advised that she would follow up with me in a couple of days after we spoke with an answer one way or another. I did not hear back, and I am assuming that I did not get the job.
I have since accepted a position elsewhere. This whole interview experience was very slow and unprofessional.

I was contacted by the organizations internal recruiter via LinkedIn. He sent me the job information and asked me to apply if I was interested. After that I did not hear back for like a week. I sent a respond advising that wasn’t good practice to reach out and have someone to apply to a job and then not follow up. Shortly thereafter I was contacted via phone by the recruiter and was phone screened then set up for an interview for that same week on a Friday at 8:30am via Zoom. It was a panel interview with 2 supervisors and the person above them. The interview appears to have went very well, the question were similar to the STAR format but difficult than what the basic questions would be. Everyone was very warm and polite but professional. After the interview, I sent a follow up thank you letter to the team and did not get a response for another week. The manager over the supervisors responded with a thank you message that was basic and saying we will be in touch.
The next Monday I get a call from the recruiter advising that my salary requirements was a bit high and that was causing concern, I came down 5 grand and he confirmed with the management my new asking price and they proceeded to schedule a 2nd interview with me for the very next day. Another panel interview. This was supposed to include the Vice President of this side of the organization, however he was not in the meeting and no one made mention of him not being there or why. I went through the whole grilling process for a second time and was advise I would meet with one of their employees at the end of the time that had similar experience underwriting as I did so he could tell me his experience onboarding with the company. When k spoke with the employee he was warm honest and welcoming and even stated, that if I made it this far in the process I more than likely got the job and told me to not be shy on my price because the company had not been competitive on salary and due to this lost some people.
Once again I sent another thank you email professionally, and this time not only did I not get a response from anyone, 2 almost 3 week went by before they switched my status to no longer considered in the candidate system, with no email acknowledgment at all.
I found this to be a shock for an organization that appeared to have a great culture and some longevity since it was explained they were replacing some people that were retiring. To put someone through this whole process to not even provide a canned statement is completely unacceptable and a lack of respect of someone’s time. This rejection is God’s protection. This could have been handled way better than to completely act as if I did not matter enough to at least say something.
