Entretien
Was excited to learn more about this org. Initial phone interview to discuss role, when mentioning experience with individual donors was told the focus was on institutional giving. Next two interviews with sr staff and ED covered this. Fourth interview with two other staff almost completely focused on my “pitching” them as if they were individual donors. Was very turned off during this interview when told “we really need a go-getter” — felt as if this staff person was determined to disqualify me for role despite 11 years in the field with proven record of securing gifts -/as well as conducting multiple personal initiatives and achievements alongside development career.
Also — completely ghosted after last follow up email to administrator handling logistics. No communication to share moving ahead with other candidate. Job has now been re-posted with new title/language requirements.
Disappointing experience!
Questions d'entretien [5]
Question 1
Experience with grants and portfolio management
Ability to maintain calendar with multiple competing deadlines
What experience has been had abroad or with other cultures — was told in 4th interview by staff person that he “thinks they should hire someone who has been in peace corps”
Language proficiency - job was posted as Spanish preferred but not required - however same sr staff person made a big deal about this in 4th interview even though not all program officers are fluent in Spanish
