It depends on the store. My store was extremely desperate for help and I was called in for an interview the day I applied. I'm in my 20's with 7 years of cashiering and food prep experience so I was hired on the spot and started working the following week. If its a store with primarily minors working, they're always happy to have an adult apply. Kids call out frequently.

Entretien
It was very very easy, they basically just asked my availability and customer service experience. It was more like a conversation not an interview. They called back the same day.
Was pretty easy. they asked few questions. I answered pretty nonchalantly, and they responded pretty basically. Overall solid interview. Couldn't ask for more. Would rate ten out of ten. They asked about my experiences.
Was asked very simple questions covering things like availability, ability to handle cash, how much i expected to be paid, and the interview ended with a handshake and job offer
