      Entretien pour Graphic Designer

      15 juin 2023

      Aucune offre
      Expérience négative

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Drone Racing League (New York, NY)

      Entretien

Went through 3 rounds - first with a recruiter, second with a team member, 3rd with the CMO. The first two were virtual, the 3rd was in person. Everything felt very positive, but there were some red flags (like everyone working there was new, even though it's been around for 7 years). It sucked to do an in-person interview and not get an offer in this day in age - but it sucked more that the reason I didn't get an offer was said to be a "cultural fit" issue. I think I proved that I was a driven and hard worker - but I am heavily tattooed and have stretched ears- no one in the office looked like me. In fact, I asked about their lack of diversity in their pilots during the interview as well (no female pilots yet are promoting STEM??), which now I suspect was a red flag to them. If you are looking for somewhere that puts diversity and inclusion as a priority, this is not for you. Now having seen the office (I am a white woman for full disclosure, but I do notice these things), mostly everyone was white, "clean cut"/preppy, and very young. I doubt there is any effective DEI there and it shows big time in their organization and what they are putting out there.

I was contacted very quickly after applying for a full-time position through LinkedIn, and I should have paid attention to the red flags I saw straight off the first interview. I was told that I was a very strong candidate and that I should expect to hear something back very soon. Following that, I was dragged along for over three months through multiple long interviews, getting weekly "sorry, the hiring manager/higher up is out of the office today" emails or having to reach out myself- only to be met with the same "we're busy flying at the speed of drones, but we'll get back to you soon!". After three months of constantly being told that I was a strong/top candidate and to expect news about the next steps soon, they said they would get back to me early the next week with an estimation of the offer and then ghosted me. It was overall a very unprofessional experience with the hiring team, and I wish someone would have been upfront about how long the process would actually take or why they decided to go in a different direction instead of just ghosting me.
