Sent my CV in and got called back for an interview the next day. First interview went great. I get invited back for a second interview in 3 weeks. They request that I prepare a project and put forward an idea for their marketing and product development. I spend the next 2 weeks preparing and everything from cost pricing to their competitors as well as up and coming ideas related to the project topic. It is a very high standard project and presentation that I prepare and deliver. All goes well during the interview, I just however can't help but feel that they already have a candidate in mind as the one interviewer keeps mentioning that they had an interview with a very strong candidate. So after an one and half hour presentation that I gave and presented them with my 10 page project and 3 ideas for them to develop their food and beverage, they thank me and I leave. After a week of not hearing back from them, I email only to receive, 2 days later, a 2 line email simply stating that "my application is not being progressed further... blah blah blah". So after basically giving a full marketing plan to these people not only did they not have the decency to contact me themselves and offer some feedback, but they also outright ignored my request for feedback. They obviously got a whole bunch of free ideas from me and an in depth analysis of their business plan. Fair enough if I didn't get the job but the decent thing to do is contact your candidate who spent so much time researching and preparing an internal project for you for free. But these people are not decent and it is my suspicion that they had a candidate in mind all along they just thought they would get some free marketing ideas from really bright people who had applied for their non existent job. Candidates beware when applying with this company. They just want some free ideas and free consulting.
