      The first round was that of HR followed by an assignment submission, which I had a lot of fun doing. Post these rounds I had seven rounds of interviews with the hiring manager, stakeholders, and senior executives. Most of them were nice and asked relevant questions. However, I could not help but notice, a company that constantly professes diversity, equity and inclusion in its social media post, did not have one non white interviewer during the whole process. I do not think it is the interviewers' fault or for that matter the recruiter's either. Yet it is critical to note that representation matters. And I did not find any kind of representation during the process. Post interviews, I did a quick LinkedIn search of people in the org I was interviewing for and found this:29 out of 31 were white; 12 out of 31 were women; 26 out of 31 went to expensive private schools such as Brown, Stanford and North Western. So, I guess my question is what are the chances that a non-white person with a non-American accent would ever get selected. Even if they do what are the chances of them getting promoted. Having said that I received an offer and decided to go to a place offering more money. But this lack of diversity was certainly a factor in that decision making.

      a) Tell me about a time you had to work with a difficult stakeholder. How did you navigate the waters? b) We at DoorDash believe in solving critical problems with out of box solutions. Have you ever had to do anything of that nature. c) There were cases in each of the seven rounds. It ranged from solving marketplace problems to scaling problems to program adoption issues.

      Had a recent interview process that started off fine but ended up feeling like a waste of time. The initial phone screen with the recruiter was positive (straightforward, professional, and gave me a good sense of the role). But the hiring manager interview was… odd. They gave a quick rundown of the position, asked me one question (“tell me about your background”), and that was pretty much it. No real follow-up, no questions about my relevant experience, and no opportunity to actually talk about what I could bring to the role. It didn’t feel like a real interview - more like a box they had to check. So I wasn’t surprised to hear I wasn’t moving forward. Just disappointed that there wasn’t any meaningful conversation or engagement. Felt like a missed opportunity all around.
