      Candidature

J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris 6 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez DoorDash (Los Angeles, CA) en juil. 2018

      Entretien

First Round: 10-15 min HR screener where the only question I was asked was "walk me through your resume." I was given more details about the role, the kind of person they were looking for, and an overview of the hiring process. I was told the next step was a take home assignment that I was able to schedule whenever worked best for me and went from there. Second Round: Take home assignment. I was given a large (13,000 rows) spreadsheet and 24 hours and asked to analyze it to create recommendations for the business from the data. I spent about 12 hours on it and ultimately sent a powerpoint to DoorDash. About a week later, I heard back that I would be moving onto the next round. Third Round: The third round was 2 45 minute zoom interviews with members of the S&O teams. They were supposed to be back to back, but my second interviewer had to reschedule last minute so it was pushed to a later date. The first interview was a high level case-esque discussion of issues facing the merchant side of the business. Things like how would you solve the problem of missing items and how would you think about selecting which merchants to onboard. The interviewer was really nice and it felt very conversational. The second 45 minute was a behavioral asking typical situational questions, nothing particularly out of the ordinary. Both conversations went well and I was moved on to the final round. Final Round: Your mileage may vary, but I had 3 30 minute zoom conferences with senior directors in the company. The first interviewer didn't call in on time and HR told me once I reached out that he would be moved to the end of my schedule. The second interviewer showed up almost 10 minutes late and it felt like she was reading off a list of questions. Our chat was not conversational and she ended very abruptly at the exact time we were supposed to end. The second interviewer was with a director out of the LA office that included some case questions about the merchant side of the business as well as some general behavioral. The last interviewer included a deeper case discussion on the dasher side of the business culminating in him asking me to come up with how I would launch bike delivery in 2 weeks. I didn't feel confident about my answer to that question nor did I feel great about the conversation with the first interviewer so finished the "super day" feeling like I got rejected. A week later I received a call from HR that my feeling was correct and that they would not be moving forward with me. The feedback I got was that they wanted someone with more tech experience and more structured answers in the cases. Despite the result, I had a positive experience interviewing with Doordash. Everyone I chatted with seemed excited about the company and was very helpful in answering my questions.

      Question 1

What’s your favorite startup? What's your life hack? (I was asked this twice) What is your proudest accomplishment? Is there any question that I didn’t ask that you thought i would? What do you think will be your biggest challenge joining DoorDash? Tell me about a time you failed.
