Weirdest/most unprofessional company ever. Had a great interview, the people were really nice. At the end we all shook hands and they told me to stick around for awhile. The guy came back in and said, 'we're going to go ahead and start the background and reference check on you today if that's ok?' Yes!! None of my references ever heard anything. I used to have a government job so I know there is nothing on my background check they could have found. They just ghosted me. I even called their iRecruitment call center thing and he blew me off. At least have the guts to send an email saying you went in a different direction. Geez.
