Applied to their Sr. Systems Engineer position and got a follow up a day or two later for scheduling the intro call.
I scheduled my time slot through their calendar for 2:30pm Tuesday of the following week. A couple hours before the call, the recruiter re-scheduled to 2:00pm, which overlapped with another call of mine. I proposed a new time for 3:30pm the same day, which was confirmed on the calendar.
I received a call at 3:00pm, which I missed because I was not expecting a call that early. The recruiter left a voicemail saying time opened up early and to give them a call back. I called back only minutes after and they did not answer; I left a voicemail. I waited a few minutes and decided to give another call and, again, no answer.
So I wait for our scheduled time of 3:30 and did not receive a call after about 5 minutes. I called back a THIRD time and the recruiter finally answered. Expect by their tone, it sounded as if they were somehow not expecting me to follow up or as if it was my fault that I did not answer early when THEY called me outside of the scheduled time without a heads up.
They seemed like I was inconveniencing them, but we proceeded with the call anyway. We hardly went over any of my technical experience beyond a quick breakdown of my work history. I am then told that they are on final rounds with other candidates, but the team may still review my resume for an interview. However, I took this to mean that they will likely close the role and that I am wasting my time.
Two days later, I have not received any follow up. Regardless though, I am not sure if I want to work for a company with such an unprofessional hiring process right off the bat.
