Spoke with a nice recruiter who asked various questions about my background and interests. Was sent a take-home coding exercise. A little over a week later with no further communication on their part I was sent an email declining my candidacy. Given other interview reviews posted here on Glassdoor and their suggested completion time of 1 - 1.5 hours (ha) to build a feature that touches every layer of the application, front-end and back-end, it seems to me they are only interested in engineers with a very specific skillset, namely, engineers with prior experience building chat applications or socket applications. I'd recommend making that more explicit up front.
