Interview process was really smooth and very well co ordinated. I was constantly updated about the feedback from the previous interview and what to expect in the following interviews in terms of general high level interview structure and topics. My interview process started with a phone call with a recruiter who went over my background to determine the team which may be the right fit for me. This was followed by 1) video interview with the hiring manager which covered both technical and cultural fit 2) video interview with a Tech Lead which went into a broad set of topics relating to networking, distributed systems, databases, system design, testing practises 3) Take home coding assignment 4) Three video interviews which went into details of distributed systems, microservices, networking, testing and coding assignment. I was asked to extend the coding assignment with an additional feature 5) Final interview was with the Director of Engineering to briefly talk about my background and I was given plenty of time to ask questions related to DigitalOcean business, remote work etc. Overall, I felt the interview process was really smooth and thorough and covered the right set of questions and topics which are relevant to figure out the right fit of the candidate with the specific job opening.
