      Entretien

There is a phone screening, then an in-person interview, then a writing assignment, then another interview. I only made it to the first in-person interview, but here's the thing. At the end of my interview, they legitimately told me that I would be sent the writing assignment the next week. That sounds like I've made it to the next step, right? Well, I waited for an entire week and heard nothing. I then get a positive email a week later, just before the weekend telling me to hold on just a little while longer to hear about next steps. Does that sound like someone who is telling you to wait for a phone call about not getting the job? I sent it to everyone I know, and they all agreed it would be a super weird thing to do if you weren't moving forward with the process. I waited a weekend and two more weekdays to hear about those next steps. I finally got a phone call informing me that I was not moving on.... Better yet, the reason that they decided not to go with me is because they "can tell that I have a passion for something else," something that I told them, over and over again, was not something I wanted to do with my life. It isn't. They basically broke my heart and told me to go do something that I am vehemently against doing. It tears me up to write this review, but I feel a bit broken by this entire process. This job would have been everything to me. It was everything that I wanted in a career, and they kept stringing me along for weeks, only to tell me that it's NOT my dream job as if they know me more than I know myself. If you apply for a job here, I would just say to be prepared to waste a significant amount of your time waiting for anyone there to communicate with you. They are all very kind people, and it seems like a great place to work I just think they need to work on the interview process and possibly not misleading their candidates.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We really take this kind of feedback to heart because we work hard to make sure our candidates feel valued and respected throughout our process. Searching for a new role is TOUGH. We empathize – everyone on our team has been there at some point, including our hiring team. We cannot apologize enough for the misunderstanding during the in-person interview and the grief it has caused. Our hiring manager was reiterating the next step in our process. (We received a lot of applications for this position, and we like to set realistic expectations at each stage of the process about the process and how/when we plan to follow up.) I am truly saddened that you believe you wasted a great deal of time waiting for a follow-up. We had so many wonderful applicants (you included), and we wanted to be sure we took the time to make the best decision for all. We are wishing you all the best in finding your next work home!
