      Entretien pour Flight Attendant

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Delta Air Lines (Atlanta, GA) en sept. 2015

      Entretien

I applied online at the end of August and got invitation to do video interview a couple of days later. The following week I got a phone call for phone screening and was invited to f2f in Atlanta, GA. I think typically airlines will fly applicants out for f2f the day before the interview but for some reason they decided to fly me out morning of my interview.. My flight was originally scheduled to land in ATL at 10:30AM and my interview time was set at 12:30PM so I figured I would have plenty of time to regroup and gather myself after landing to prep for the interview.. The morning of my interview, I received an email that my flight was delayed 2 HOURS so now I was scheduled to land in ATL right at 12:30PM (when my interview was supposed to be starting) It was 4AM when I got the email and Delta does not give you a phone number to contact them so only option I had left was to send them an email letting them know that my flight got delayed. I wasn't sure if they were going to reschedule my interview and I wasn't expecting to get a reply since I sent the email at 4AM.. So I decided to call Delta Airlines to see if there was any possible way they could get me on an even earlier flight because I really DID NOT want to be late to my interview. The customer service rep told me all flights were booked and couldn't help me but advised me to go anyway because it isn't my fault that the flight got delayed and he assured me that the interviewers would be notified of the delayed flight so it should not count against me.. So I landed in ATL right around 12:30PM and ran through the airport like a mad woman to get a cab to get to the interview site. I have no idea how late I was because I made sure to turn off my cellphone before I stepped into the building.. It was HOT and I was sweating a lot because I literally was SPRINTING IN MY HEELS AND PENCIL SKIRT through the airport to get there so right off the bat I was flustered and frustrated with the whole situation. I didn't even have time to check myself or retouch my make up (after getting off 2 hour flight) before I was thrown into the interview. I missed a chunk of the interview at the very beginning where folders were passed out and I don't even know what else I missed because no one told me. I explained to the interviewers that my flight got delayed and that was why I was late and they seemed to be understanding of the situation, but there probably like 25+ flight attendants/interviewers and probably around 50 applicants there so obviously they didn't make an announcement or anything so I know that not everyone knew the reason why I was late and probably just assumed otherwise (which is very frustrating and not fair, in my opinion). By the time I got there, I only had 5 minutes to work the room and talk to all the FAs there and of course everyone was already in mid conversation and I didn't want to interrupt..I was able to maybe introduce myself to 1 or 2 FAs before it was time to move on to the next phase of the interview.. Honestly, I felt like I got robbed of a great opportunity with a great company. I don't want to blame not getting an offer from Delta solely on my flight getting delayed but I know that it did affect me and just wasn't a great way to start off the day. Even though I had already asked for the day off from my current employer and I am aware that it was not THEIR fault the flight got delayed but I would have much rather had my interview rescheduled for a later day if I had to do it all over again. The interview process itself was a positive experience, everyone was very kind. The only negative aspect of the interview is during the f2f portion, they only ask you behavioral based questions and expect your answers to be examples of specific situations, they basically don't want to know anything about your personal life which I think is silly. They don't want to get to know the real YOU, as a person, they just want to make sure you know how to answer their questions like how they want you to.

I am currently in the interview process for the FA position and have reached the ODV part of it. Most of the questions are expierenced based, so I would recommend just thinking of the times you have exceeded the customer service baseline before hand.
