After the owner reviewed my resume I sent online, she asked me via email if I could put together a project with a few styles I thought would fit well in the Dee Elly line, and bring them with me to the in person interview. I did my research, and created - at least in my opinion - a few very cute dresses and tops. When i finally went to the location, the owner flipped through the booklet I had created just for her, with no feedback at all. She went on to explain the role I was being interviewed for: dozens of new designs per month, very fast pace, people are screamers, high stress, designers are not paid benefits, designers are required to go out shopping on their own time, unpaid, on weekends, to spot trends. When I questioned her about the last point she became very defensive and quickly showed me out. Not only did I do a ton of research work, I put a project together for free, received no feedback, but I had to be insulted to hear that lack of benefits and working for free on the weekends are absolutely normal. The worst interview ever!
