Initial contact with hr rep was pleasant. After having interview delayed a few times finally got 1:1 with hiring manager. Appeared that the questions being asked had nothing to do with job posting.

Applied online and did a phone screen a week later. Followed by an in-person 2nd interview with department manager/ leader and a 3rd technical interview. Had high hopes but unfortunately, I felt this company had zero respect for the applicant’s time and entire process felt unpleasant throughout and at the end. Recruiter completely forgot about scheduled initial phone screen interview and I had to reach out and get it rescheduled to next day. Person doing the 2nd in-person interview was well over half an hour late and unprepared. Was told position had a range of 20-30/hr and was offered $22/hr hourly non-exempt. The onboarding application required you disclose three most recent employers, what they paid you and why you left. They will bill you for any training you took within a year of the date you leave the company. They have a small device monthly allowance, basic 401k plan and offer 1 week of PTO first year and 2 weeks upon completion of 2nd year of employment, 5 paid sick days, paychecks are weekly. From my experience they will decide if you are what they are looking for or not, you just need to be a basic level prepared to stay positive and steer the conversation to pitch yourself. The final technical interview had basic questions asking about prior experience and pitching the company and was the most structured and pleasant.

      Entretien pour Marketing

      Entretien

I initially found the interview quite pleasant and not intimidating. The manager interviewing was super welcoming and answered any questions I had. She reviewed my resume and ensured the general responsibilities were something I was willing to do (hours, travel, work pace). Before we concluded, she asked what was my ultimate goal if I was hired where I expressed exploring additional skills I can learn within the Marketing department and overall growth. She assured that would be something they can provide and I seem like an ideal candidate for the role. She asked if I was open to meeting the VP once the interview concluded and I accepted. Once they returned to the room, it was clear the tone had changed. I was immediately questioned on my resume again as "wanting to learn new marketing skills would not be in my responsibilities as this is an event planning oriented role," which I was fully aware of and discussed with the Manager. My response to the final question also rose concern as the VP expressed concern that my "desire for growth is not something she could provide as there were no higher positions available at the moment that she could offer." I was very stunned as I was confused where I gave the impression in desiring a promotion immediately upon being hired. It also didn't sit well with me as she continued to speak down on the Manager when she left the room as she "has not been here for long." No later than a few hours post-interview, I received the rejection email stating "they have found another candidate more aligned in their experiences and the demands of the role." However, the job posting is still present and updated. I wish the experience ended on better terms cause I was very excited for the role and assist in the work they did.
