I was contacted by a recruiter who was scouting candidates on behalf of DSD. They did an initial screening process, and then set up an interview with Brad Slisz, the VP of consulting. Brad didn't really ask me any hard ball questions, and mainly just asked me to go over some of the positions I've had in the past. The recruiter then had me meet with the current PM Jaime Krakowiak. Jaime also didn't really ask me any hard ball questions, and it primarily felt like something of a culture interview. The recruiter didn't follow up with me verbally, but sent me a link to a skill assessment and personality test, stating that these items had been requested by DSD. I completed both, and tired to follow up The recruiter refused to acknowledge my phone calls or emails directly for the following two weeks. I eventually got frustrated and reached out directly to DSD's HR manager (I had her contact info because she had set up the video interviews) inquiring about my candidacy and if I was still being considered. She didn't respond, but must have reached out to the recruiter, because a few days later I got a call from the recruiter's manager. I was informed that some things had changed at DSD and they were no longer hiring for the role I was interviewing for at all. They were instead looking to replace the current PM, instead of added to the team. I asked why I wasn't instead being considered for that role, I was told that I didn't have enough skill or experience. Which is frustrating because they didn't bother to fully vet me or ask me specific questions at all. The only metric that had anything to do with my skills that they had was the skill assessment, which were more like SAT questions - nothing relating to the role at all. They completely wasted my time for a month, interviewing me for a job that didn't exist, and then didn't consider me for a job that did, even though on paper it was the same job.
