I was first invited for a Teams interview with the managing director. As this went quite well, I was invited for an in person interview. For the in person interview, I was offered two dates : one was two days from the original interview and the other one a week after. I was excited to attend but mentioned that this would have been difficult for me, as I was extremely busy at the time and was living in the opposite side of the country. Despite this, I still decide to make travel plans (which were last minute, expensive and never reimbursed). The interview itself (which lasted about 35 minutes) was more of a discussion of if I had done anything similar in the past (bear in mind I was a student at the time and hadn’t finished my course yet). I did not get a tour of the premises, did not get to know other members of the team, didn’t do anything that required my physical presence in the building. I was quite upset and disappointed after the interview but decided to wait and see if I would get any feedback from them. I messaged the managing director three weeks after the interview to get feedback, and I was told he was going to get back to me. In the end, I never got feedback, never got an offer and never got any acknowledgement for travelling such a distance on such short notice (for an interview which could have easily been another teams call) !
