I recently interviewed for a front-end position at Cybooz IT Solutions Pvt Ltd. The interview began with questions on PHP, which was unexpected given my background in front-end development. As I have limited knowledge in PHP, this part of the interview was challenging. The interviewer then moved on to problem-solving tasks, including calculating GST, swapping two numbers without additional variables, and using a 3-liter and 5-liter bucket to measure 4 liters of water. The discussion then shifted to JavaScript, where I was asked about array and string methods, and React topics, which aligned with my experience. Despite this, the interviewer indicated a preference for candidates with experience in PHP or Svelte.js. They suggested that I could be considered for a role if I learned Svelte within 30 days and successfully completed a related assignment. I was informed that if I were selected, I would need to demonstrate my ability by completing a task involving Svelte and its functionalities. The role offered a salary between 8,000 to 10,000 INR monthly, with a performance review after 6 months for a potential increase. Ultimately, I chose not to pursue this opportunity due to the emphasis on learning Svelte and PHP, which did not align with my career focus. The process highlighted the company's rigorous selection criteria and their willingness to invest in training candidates for specific technologies.
