      Entretien

I interviewed recently for a role with the professional services team. Like many reviewers here, I had a pretty bizarre experience and my interview really changed my view of the company. Hopefully it can help other people from not going dealing with the same issues or at least provide the talent team with some feedback about the process. A couple of notes - I am a current hiring manager in my current role and have high expectations for candidate experience. I also did not get the role, which I would have turned down anyways after my interview experience. I applied online and the talent team reached out right away. I had some trouble getting a time nailed down because everything was filtered through the clearly very busy talent team, but finally did a week or so later. I had a rather routine but very positive phone interview by the hiring manager. They were eager to move the process along as fast as possible. I was given a performance task, completed it. Was asked to have a video debrief about it and was given about 4 hours notice (again, very busy talent team couldn't get back to me fast enough). This went really well too - literally no real feedback and the interviewers seems super happy to talk with me. I really wish they had been more honest with me at this point, so I wouldn't have wasted any more time. Was asked to fly to the home office in MA. My travel was a nightmare. I live in a major city hub for multiple airlines, but wasn't booked on any direct flights and the layovers were too short. My travel to MA included TWO layovers, both of which were slightly delayed, leading to me missing my last connection. This ended up getting me stuck almost overnight the night before my interview. I eventually made it, but it was awful. My interview was 5 short back to back interviews, 3 of them were virtual, so I didn't need to travel at all for them. I felt like only 1 of my interviews was both warm AND professional, and it was over the phone. The interview with the hiring managers was one of the least professional experiences I've had in a while. They were actually laughing during multiple parts of my interview, giggling at their own inside jokes, didn't have my materials ready, left the room at one point, and ran out of time to ask me any real interview questions. In my opinion, completely unacceptable to ask someone to travel so far to treat them this way. My other interviews were routine, some kind of rude, like they were skeptical of my experiences. Most of the interviewers asked the same questions over and over. I left feeling confused as to what I just experienced, and was relieved when I got a canned email a few days later. I believe they already had someone in mind or knew I wasn't going to be a good fit before I ever went to MA for the interview.

We’re sorry to hear you had a negative experience interviewing with CA. The professionalism of our interview team is a top priority with our interview process, and we constantly work with our interview teams to make the process as professional and warm as possible. Also, while we work with travel partners to create an efficient series of arrangements for candidates visiting from out-of-state, availability can sometimes dictate the overall timing of the itinerary. Please know that your comments have been received and our team will work to improve our process for future candidates. Thanks for your candor, and we wish you the best of luck. -Shrina
