Recruiter (1) from Cruise reached out and asked to let them know if any position is of interest to me as they were hiring. I responded with the SE position (with the job ID/link) that interested me and I could potential transfer my skillset, Cruise being an autonomous car company. Recruiter (2) sends me an email saying she was passed along my resume from Recruiter (1) and the position I was interested (not she had the position incorrect, I asked SE, and she was trying to get me into Testing). I wrote Recruiter (2) that its not the position my skillset are suitable for and I am interested in SE position. Recruiter (2) responded by saying she has passed along my resume to proper hiring team. Few days gone and Recruiter (3) contacts me for showing the interest in their company (note, i had never heard of Cruise before, they reached out) and that she has passed along my resume to the team and one of the hiring managers was interested to talk to me (note, this was an SE position in a different subset of team and not the one I had initially asked to interview for). Anywho, my skillset was still transferable as SE is a big domain. Phone interview was setup with the hiring manager who liked my background/experience. This is still not my 1st choice position, although at this point I am thinking let me see how it goes. After coordinating suitable time and day with Recruiter (4)/Coordinator, phone interview was set up. Day of the phone interview, hiring manager calls me 7 minute, 33 seconds late and says if its still a good time to talk? (Seriously?). The interview itself was easy, nothing out of ordinary/tricky question. The hiring manager starts by telling what the company does, and what the team does, etc. I tell the hiring manager about my accomplishments and then strange thing happens after 18minutes into phone call (Hiring manager: I need to drop, Can I call you back in few minutes? Me: Not sure what to say, I said ok that is fine (who stops the interview in between, unless you go to go, really, LOL). The hiring manager calls me back after 4minutes and the interview continues, except I was given a scenario and asked how would approach to write an algorithm from an SE perspective, I go ahead and provide a logical approach which the hiring manager liked it (at least I didnt hear anything negative). It was my turn to ask any final question I had, and for clarification, I asked (sort of pointed out), one of the things that was not described in SE Lifecycle Process, for which I was told it is part of Requirements process (to which I said thank you for clarification). Although it made me think the hiring manager didnt like or took that clarification/pointing negatively as if I was trying to tell that their SE Lifecycle process lacks a major tasks for successful delivery of the system. (I am just referring to the traditional SE "VEE" model. I didn't get the offer and its okay as it may not have been the right fit. Although it was the most unprofessional experience that anyone could ever have. Unprofessionalism from recruiters, managers, and lack of communication between recruiters (I did mention this to the hiring manager how my resume was passed along between 3/4 recruiters)
