Department chair called to set up an interview after I applied for the position online. She informed me that I would have to give a 20 minute lesson on a topic of my choice. It was a panel interview in a conference room. Each interviewer read a question from a sheet of paper. After the first portion, I set up for my lesson. I was informed that the clock was ticking. One of the interviewers could not perform a simple task of highlighting metaphors on a printed page. Another interviewer left during the presentation to wash highlighter off his hands.
