      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Coursemojo en oct. 2023

      Entretien

After submitting my resume, the CEO sent me a home assignment, which was a simple task. Upon completing and submitting it, I had a one-on-one meeting where we discussed the company, its vision, and my experience. It was such a delightful meeting, and I learned a lot from Jamie. I really think he would've been an amazing person to work with, as he seemed like a good mentor. I was then moved forward in the interview process and had two technical interviews scheduled—one for the front end and the other for the back end. Supposed to be conducted back-to-back. The front-end interview turned out to be the worst interview I’ve ever had. Interviews are already stressful, and an interviewer should start with small talk to ensure the candidate feels comfortable, should know how to use the ide, and should know when to step in and give hints etc... She had no idea how to conduct an interview. She was extremely condescending, and aloof, didn't answer my questions properly. Her attitude was more like "let's just get this over with" rather than trying to understand my skills, background or experience. From the start she made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Even though I mentioned that I’m a back-end engineer and rusty on the front end—and that Jamie was aware of this and had said it was fine as they were looking for someone willing to do both—she abruptly stopped the interview, saying she had gotten what she needed. Ten minutes later, I received an email saying my back-end interview had been canceled. I’ve never had a worse experience in my life. I think it was extremely disrespectful to me as a candidate. If the CTO thought I was a good candidate after spending an hour reviewing my submitted work and coding together, it shouldn’t have been up to an employee (who had been at the company for less than six months) to decide not to move forward with the rest of the process in the rudest way possible. In normal companies, if you're promised two interviews, you get both interviews and they look at your strengths and weaknesses and make informed decision. not based on ONE, but both. I feel sorry for her because her attitude and the way she represented the company were terrible. Even if I had moved forward with the process and received an offer, I would have declined. Working with someone like that would be unbearable. I wish her kindness and happiness as she needs it a lot. Quality of your work environment and life is massively affected by acts of kindnesses.
