About 3 years ago, between 1st and 2nd lockdowns, I got an invitation for an interview. I accepted. A day prior to the interview the hiring manager rang me for an informal chat and to confirm my attendance to the interview . In the chat I shared I had kids and would sometimes need flexibility as a working parent, especially when things were up in the air during the pandemic ( there should be no problem generally if you work as an accountant, and not on a production line). I was told there was no flexibility and I was discouraged to attend the interview the next day, as I was told that they were looking for someone "reliable" so not a good fit for a "working mother". I was gobsmacked at the end of that call.
