The first interview was fine, although the CEO only asked me one question about myself and spent the rest of the time—around 20 minutes—talking about his own success in sales and his expertise in sales techniques.
For the second round, I was assigned a case study to present. I invested a great deal of time into research and preparation, delivered a 30-minute presentation, and participated in a 20-minute Q&A session, during which I answered all questions confidently and thoroughly.
Unexpectedly, I was also asked to improvise a sales pitch on the spot, with the CEO role-playing as a potential client. I found this request somewhat unreasonable, considering it was an internship position and I hadn’t been given any formal introduction to the product’s specifics.
Despite the significant effort I put into the process—and what I believe was a strong performance—I never received any feedback or follow-up. I even sent a follow-up email requesting feedback, which went unanswered. This lack of communication struck me as highly unprofessional, not only given the effort involved, but also considering that the CEO had described the company as innovative, exceptional, and a leader in the industry—yet they couldn’t provide the most basic courtesy of a response.
