You must enroll online, get interview if you are selected, get a medical examination and go to an orientation. I went for my interview first, then the medical and orientation, as an employee referred me to the department manager. Being that I am in college, they wanted a college transcript. The minimum GPA for the job is a 3.0 or higher.
In the interview, they ask you a series of company-issued questions aimed at getting an insight into your personality, why you chose the company and test your ethics with an ethical question pertaining to the job you are performing.
After the interview, I went for a medical exam. It was only a drug test as I was 18 at the time. Two other applicants with me in the medical facility were over 21 and they had to go through a full medical, so it depends on your age.
Finally, you go for the orientation at 4 Irving Place, ConEd's headquarters. The interview was from 8:00am - 2:00pm, and I started working the next day.
