I applied for a job with this company that was in another state from where I was living. I was contacted by phone by a recruiter for the company who said that I was the perfect fit for the job that I applied for with their company. He also said that I would definitely get an in-person interview and me living out of state wouldn't have any impact on getting my fair chance at the job. After our phone interview the recruiter said he was moving me on to the next interview and I will be contacted in a couple of days for that interview. A week went by and still no phone call for next interview. I called recruiter and he gave all kinds of excuses why I wasn't called. He said I would get a call very soon. I finally received a call from a woman who didn't seem very excited to talk with me about the job. She wanted me to come for a sit-down interview. I said I was living out of state but I would be in her area in about a week for the interview. She seemed excited by that and she set my interview with her but she didn't a time to come in which I thought was suspicious. I didn't hear from her for several days and when I did finally reach her she acted surprised and told me that the job had been filled! What?! I said. I asked her when did she fill the position??? She said that same day she spoke with me on the phone about coming in for an interview. I asked her when she was planning on telling me this since I was traveling in from out of state, and why she didn't say anything about this when I was on the phone with her? She didn't answer, she just said "sorry."
