Submitted resume and was emailed about setting up a phone screen. On the telephone interview it was clear that my experience matched the position. I was told that my information would be “presented to the local team” to decide if they would like to bring me in for a face to face. I must say, this practice is how workplaces have become so non-diverse. When people who all look like each other decide who joins the team it affects any hope for a diverse work group. Needless to say I received no call back. Afterwards I went to the website and reviewed the staff pictures for the office I was applying for and it became clear why. Side note- I am colleagues with 2 people who work there now, with less relevant experience than me. But they “fit the image” more so than I do per my inside source. If you’re looking for a company that is truly color blind-skip Compass.

Felt similar to another SGM interview I read on Glassdoor. Had one call with recruiter and felt like I was just a number to boost number of people interviewed for the position.
