I had a telephone interview (the first step in the process). The person son I was meeting with was extremely friendly and we had an enjoyable discussion about the company and the role. Unfortunately we soon both realized that the salary was well below my requirements and therefore did not move forward. They did note that the “Director” title was to give the individual clout externally, but that the salary and role were more a manager level.
