Questions posées lors d’un entretien d’embauche pour Senior Backend Engineer chez Coinbase

I had Karat round through the Coinbase company. Interview format like this: 7 min- Introduction 10 min - API Design. 43 min: 2 DS, Algo questions I got rejected, But I have feedback about my experience. The feedback I received is that my design skills are very poor. I am not sure how someone can evaluate somebody's designing skill in just 5 min? In these 7 mins, he explained the question in 2 min and then I needed to design in 5 min. Please be aware that if you ask any question then you are wasting your time, as the timer was on. The interviewer was constantly reminding me that your time starts now, 2 min remaining, and then 1 min remaining, time over! When it comes to evaluating designing skills, There is no good or bad design unless you discuss it. Design is not a mathematical equation where you just need to solve the equation and give the output. Coinbase will lose many good candidates (if not me) due to this Karat. I will not ever recommend Karat. I am also wondering why Coinbase doesn't recognize this problem.

Recruiter reached out on LinkedIn and setup a 60min tech screen. The tech screen went really well, that's as far as what the interviewer told me at the end of the interview. Infact, the interviewer told me "I have asked this question to at least 100 people,and you are one of the few who got the solution working during the first run. Okay, 1.1 runs" That sounded very positive. I sent thank you email to recruiter saying how the interview went. In less than an hour, I got an automated email saying "we have aligned with more suitable candidates, but keep an eye out for other positions at our company" I reached out to the recruiter to know if there was any feedback from the interview which would probably help me in improving for my future interviews(because the interviewer sounded nothing but happy about my solution.) No response. Coinbase Recruiters : If a candidate has spent time and energy going through your process, the last you could do is to personally follow up in case of rejection. Candidates seem to be use and throw no matter what the performance is. Would not recommend.
