I was approached by one of the company's leadership to interview for the role. I had two interviews, with the COO and the CEO over the course of a week. The company was unclear about their requirements. The questions the CEO asked were of the nature "prove that you are not a bad professional" which is a low bar. The CEO was unreceptive to the fact that I had taken a career break to focus on family and health. Only one technical question was asked by the CEO which was rather basic. The CEO (ex-Google engineer) said he had never used SQL window functions, which was a red flag given that this is a database connector company. Seemed like an amateur shop. I withdrew from the process.
