After applying online the initial phone interview occurred in a timely manner. It took about 30 minutes and questions were fairly standard. However they did ask what my favorite function in excel was. I was told there would be 3 additional interviews/case studies. However no further communications have been received from CHAI.

I passed the HR screening and was scheduled for an interview with the hiring manager. When I logged on, nobody showed up. After waiting 10 minutes, I sent a reminder email, and received a reply within 30 seconds saying they'd "be right there" as they had just come off another meeting. When they finally joined, the interviewer had very messy bed hair and a visibly tangled headphone cord. They had clearly not been in a meeting, they had forgotten the interview entirely.
The person who showed up was not the hiring manager I was told to expect, but a team member, and they showed disengagement the whole process.
What makes this especially galling is that CHAI explicitly demands attention to detail, compassion, and responsibility from candidates, traits their own hiring process failed to demonstrate at every turn.

First round: ~20 min call with HR to discuss my background in alignment with the role
Second round: Technical/written assignment.
Third round: Interview with the hiring/position’s manager
Fourth round: Interview with another team member from a different office that had been in the same role as the position I applied.
Rounds 1-3 took place over the course of a month. They didn’t contact me for an additional month for round 4 because they were pursuing the top candidate during that time. By the time I had my 4th interview, the other candidate officially accepted the offer.

First interview was smooth and is the basic interview type to understand candidate fit.
Second step was a case study which was difficult. one has to do data analysis, write a memo and make a powerpoint presentation based on the case study provided.
